Synopsis
|
Like
his famous
ancestor; Lemeul
Gulliver Jr finds
himself in a
strange land
amongst people
with strange
customs.
Gulliver is
astounded to
discover that
women here are the
dominant
sex. Along
with all the other
men, he finds
himself harassed,
abused,
exploited.
Unfairly used at
work, a domestic
drudge at home,
Gulliver begins to
reflect on the
workings of the
society he once
was proud to be
part of ... |

Review
|
The
New Gulliver is
a sparkling,
entertaining
satire on male
domination and the
double-binds that
are imposed on
women.
With a
marvellous
recreation of the
original
Gulliver's style,
Esme Dodderidge
expresses fierce
indignation
through a subtle
and gentle
mockery. |

Comet
Gets Its
Close-Up
The
second
image of
Comet Wild
2 from
NASA's
Stardust
spacecraft
shows a
distant
side view
of the
roughly
spherical
comet
nucleus.
Taken as
Stardust
approached
comet
after a 2
billion
mile
journey,
the photo
reveals
one
hemisphere
in
sunlight
and the
other in
shadow,
similar to
a view of
the
quarter
moon from
Earth. On
January 2,
Stardust
flew
within 240
kilometers
(149
miles) of
the comet,
catching
particles
to return
to Earth
in early
2006. |
