Synopsis

Encounter With Tiber is the compelling story of the men and women who take the human race through the transition from a species that occasionally ventures just beyond Earth's atmosphere to its ultimate destiny: a starfaring civilization.  It is also the story of how a civilization on a world circling Alpha Centauri, the star closest to our own solar system, tried to reach out between the stars - and failed tragically.

Review

Buzz Aldrin piloted the lunar module during the first landing on the moon.  He first conceived Encounter With Tiber more than a decade ago and brings to it his extensive personal experience of space operations, mission design, the lives of astronauts and space politics, along with his personal vision of humanity's future in space.  The result is a genuine epic of human courage, tenacity and endurance on the ultimate frontier of space exploration: the conquest of the stars.
